Getting to Kosovo: There is only one international airport in Kosovo, the Prishtina Airport (PRN). The Airport of Skopje in neighboring Macedonia is also an option. For those arriving via PRN, you can take a taxi to the hotel (usual, fixed cost is 15 Euros).

 

Weather: The weather in Kosovo during the summer is usually warm, sometimes hot, and sunny. But during early July the temperatures should not be too high. The conference venue and hotels will be air-conditioned. 

 

Safety: Prishtina and Kosovo are generally safe for tourists and foreigners. No extra precaution is needed. 

 

Transportation: Taxi is the best way to get around Prishtina. Usual fare is between 2 and 4 Euros. 

 

Wednesday trip: We will start the trip with a visit to the Decani Monastery (14th century), continue to the city of Gjakova (old Bazaar that was rebuilt, mosques and tekkes, good food) and then finish the trip with a visit to Prizren (Ottoman-style architecture, notable churches and mosques) and maybe Prevalla in Sharr Mountains.

 

During the other days, guests would be encouraged to discover Prishtina and its surroundings. Not far from Prishtina is the Gracanica Monastery. 

 

Hotels: We will arrange the accommodation of participants, the corresponding costs being then fully covered by our funds.
